Brené Brown, one of my favorite authors and podcasters, talks about FFT's (flipping first times).
This is an FFT. First website. First blog. First book. Yikes.
I am so excited and scared. I'm going to do this anyway.
I've worked for years in unstable organizations that used layoffs to balance their books or get rid of troublemakers. I've worked at non-profits that took advantage of their customers and workers every day. Someone was making a profit, I guarantee you. I've worked at the reception desk. I've worked in culture. I've worked as an Executive Assistant, project manager, event planner, actress, and now WRITER.
Turns out, writing the book is the easy part. Now, I have to get it published. I need an agent, a publisher, an editor, and readers. Not necessarily in that order, it turns out! Agents want me to already have readers. Editors want me to already have an agent. I want my book in your hands today, dear readers. I have a story to tell, some ideas to share, and I am passionate about making the place we spend 40-60 hours a week a BETTER FLIPPING PLACE. Join my revolution. It's happening, y'all!
